On the heels of our recent announcement that Trinity Basin Preparatory (TBP) has achieved an Overall District Accountability Rating of 88%, we are happy to formally announce that the Texas Education Agency approved the request for TBP to add a new campus in Mesquite. The TEA also designated TBP as a High Quality Campus and awarded TBP a Charter School Program High-Quality Replication Grant for the new Mesquite facility. This grant will provide $400,000 to help create the new school’s two innovative libraries.
The new Mesquite location will be home to TBP’s seventh school and it will open for students at the start of the 2020-2021 school year. The campus will be located on the west side of Mesquite at 2901 E. Meadows Blvd. This newly-constructed building will eventually serve approximately 1,000 students in grades PK3 through eight. The first year enrollment will be about 350 students in grades PK3 though 3rd and also 6th grade.
This new, state-of-the-art building will be approximately 82,000 square feet in one story, and will contain 51 classrooms, 13 offices, a full size gymnasium (7,500 square feet), an innovative learning center (4,000 square feet), two cafeterias, a full kitchen, two libraries, a teacher workroom, a teacher lounge, a conference room, two exterior playgrounds and an athletic field. Superintendent Randy Shaffer says: “We now begin the work of introducing the greater Mesquite community to the Titan family. Our faculty and staff are the key to TBP’s success, and the work they do every day provides the foundation for our future success in Mesquite, and for that I thank them. I am proud to bring the TBP vision to Mesquite, and look forward to opening another school for future generations of Titans.”
