Kids Vision for Life Bus Visits TBP Campuses this Fall

The 10th Street Campus hosted the Kids Vision for Life bus on Tuesday, November 17 to allow students to be screened for eye health concerns, have their vision tested, and sized for new glasses, all free of charge.

“This program is an incredible asset to our students and parents,” TBP District Nurse Sandra Coleman said. “Since they come to the campus, the parents do not have to take off work and the students don’t have to miss a full day of education to have their vision needs met.”

Launched in 2008 by the Essilor Vision Foundation, the Kids Vision for Life program seeks to provide glasses to DFW area children who would not receive them otherwise. The service provides a mobile bus equipped with an eye health screening area and two fully equipped examination rooms staffed by licensed optometrists.

Once students pick the frames of their choice and are sized for their new glasses, Kids Vision for Life prepares the lenses and frames and delivers the finished glasses to the student’s campus for pickup.
